ACTIVITIES
There
are many atttractions and activities in and around The Aye Tha Yar Golf Resort:
Golf, Nature Walks, Amusement and Games Room and Billiards - all within the
Resort itself. Fabulous sights and convenient shopping are within easy reach.
Taunggyi (8 miles) is the nearest shopping town and is the administrative
capital of the Southern Shan State.
Visit the early morning Myoma market for fresh produce unique to the Shan State,
meet minority tribesmen native to the Shan State and the Hsu-taungpyi or "Wish
Fulfilling" Pagoda which offers superb views of the town as well as panaromic
views of the Nyaung Shwe plain far below.
Not to be missed are the centuries old historic splendours of The Kekku
Pagodas…with well over 2000 stupas deep in ethnic Pa-O region…and make for a
worthwhile excursion.
Take
a day trip Nyaung Shwe Town – staging point to the Inle Lake with the colourful
5-day market and a plethora of restaurants and Myanmar teashops.
Truly unique is the major tourist attraction at The Inle Lake - famous for its
unique leg-rowers, floating villages and colourful markets, festivals and the
native lake dwellers, the Innthas living on the lake with their houses on
stilts.
Also worth a visit is the nearby Aythaya Vineyard and Winery, where you can see
Myanmar's only red and white wines being made from the vines grown and harvested
on the hill slopes.
